Yesterday night, I went to a flute recital with my flute teacher, and it turned out to be such a special experience. The concert, titled "Exotic," held at the Recital Hall in the Seoul Arts Center, was a truly exotic experience!
The program included pieces I'd never heard live before, by Dvořák, Novačić, Gade, Piazzolla, and Rodrigo, each with a different mood, joined by a pianist and bassoonist for added depth. I have a concert coming up at Carnegie Hall, so my flute teacher wanted me to come hear what really good breathing and playing sound like, and it was helpful to notice things like breath control and tone that I want to work on before my own performance.
Overall, it was such an inspiring night, and it made me want to practice even harder. I'm really grateful I got the chance to go, and I hope to attend more recitals like this before Carnegie Hall!
Below is a picture of my amazing flute teacher and the concert hall :))
