On July 29, 2026, KYHS held our Gyonam Foundation fundraising dinner, and it was a huge success. Between the members, the parents, and our guests, the whole night was a reminder of how much good can happen when a community decides to show up for each other.

The evening opened with my flute performance of 사랑하기 때문에 (Because I Love You). I was very nervous about the performance, and it felt like a lot of pressure for the first moment of the night, but it ended up going smoothly, and it was the perfect piece to start the evening built around giving and gratitude.

From there, we moved into the volunteer and fundraising presentation, where we shared just how much the night had raised. With all of our domestic members participating, we brought in 6.9 million won through attendance alone. I want to thank our director, Kim Jeong-su, who put this incredible event together.

Toward the end of the night, I got to hand out the KYHS merchandise I had designed, produced, and sold since the start of February: water bottles, mugs, t-shirts, notebooks, and tote bags. Selling it from production to pricing gave me a real taste of what running a small business feels like, and it was a great experience! That effort alone raised over 1 million won, which honestly exceeded what I expected going in.

For my contributions to the fundraiser and to the KYHS organization, I was also awarded a Certificate of Appreciation and flowers.

Looking back on the night, what stayed with me most was the community and what it means to think beyond yourself. In my eyes, the event was able to run so smoothly because of how much everyone poured into it, from the performers to the parents behind the scenes to every guest who showed up.

Below are some photos from the evening, including the closing group photo from the fundraiser and my certificate.
